Education Case Study
St Mary’s RC Primary School is a small rural primary school set in the beautiful village of Sabden right in the heart of the Ribble Valley.
Like many rural primary schools, budgets are very tight and when it came to having to replace a number of ageing PCs, Amanda Thorp, business manager/bursar, decided to approach Rapid IT. Amanda had recently received an email from Rapid IT introducing their services and how they were helping schools across Lancashire replace ageing hardware with refurbished machines.
Relationship Manager Linda Szafar visited the school and met with Amanda, outlining to the school how they get so much more for their money if they bought refurbished instead of new. All refurbished PCs and laptops from Rapid IT come fully warrantied and with new SSD hard drives in them to maximise performance and with an up to date Microsoft OS installed. This reassurance and the fact that Rapid are a local company gave Amanda the confidence to make the decision to place an order with them. By opting for the refurbished hardware route as opposed to new, the school could now afford to buy 16 x HP Intel Core i5 desktops with new 240GB SSD with 8GB DDR3 memory and Windows 10 Pro with a 3 years warranty, these were supplied with 22 inch monitors and Rapid IT provided new keyboards for each one, with mouse, free of charge. Rapid IT even collected their redundant hardware free of charge and provided compliance certification to them with regards to the recycling process. They also donated £250 back to the school which is now banked on their account for any future purchases made from Rapid IT.
