Education Case Study
Westhoughton High School is an 11-16, mixed community comprehensive school situated close to the centre of the growing town of Westhoughton within Bolton Council’s boundaries.
The use of ICT and new technologies is embedded across the school to support the curriculum at all key stages. For keen computer scientists, the ICT Department runs a programming club where students can learn how to create games, control instruments and even create a remote control car. With the growing use of ICT comes the requirement for more computers within a school, this can have an impact on many schools overstretched budgets. Westhoughton High School had a requirement for a number of additional PCs and knew of Rapid IT, having already used them for their recycling services.
The school saw the value for money in purchasing remanufactured HP 8200 Elite SFF desktops with new solid state drives and a 12 month warranty. These came in at a fraction of the price of new PCs, allowing the school to purchase double the amount of PCs they were originally considering.
