Rapid IT Recycling Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emission reductions already
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
Emissions reduction targets
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 53.59 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 53.6%.
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we will complete the following projects: Attain ISO50001 certification by ESOS Phase 4 2027.
Installation of two additional electric charging points by year ending 2024
Support our vendor and distributor partners to support their 0% non-recyclable packaging to landfill objective by 2030.
By 2040 only utilise logistics suppliers who have >90% electric vehicles.
Install a MyEnergi Eddi to use any surplus solar energy to heat internally used hot water by 2024.
Installation of battery storage to harness use of surplus energy generated from solar panels by 2025
GGR Offsetting through Ecologi
Progress against these targets can be seen on the graph below - the actual value on the graph below is the same as the target number for 2022 as this is the beginning of our baseline calculation. We do not have data for 2023 yet.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives As 2022 was the first year we measured our baseline for, we cannot report on progress against our target until 2023.
We have already implemented multiple carbon reduction initiatives prior to recording our baseline including:
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification which covers the entire scope of our business.
-Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificates for electricity supply
-Recycling in place with ongoing work with our partners to reduce the amount of non-recyclable packaging to landfill.
-Removal of single use plastic cups and bottles
-Installation of 30KW Solar PV system along with daylight controls for lighting, reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions
-Refurbishment of building including new insulated roof
- Acquisition of an electric forklift replacing a previous diesel variant
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as: Certifications and Accreditations: (PAS2060 the Carbon Neutrality Standard) Gain ISO50001 Energy Management System by 2027.
Rapid IT will begin a gap analysis programme aimed at accelerating the certification programme Waste in operations: Work with our vendor and distribution partners to further reduce the volume of non-recyclable packaging to landfill to 0% by 2040.
Upstream and Downstream Transport & Distribution – Work with our supply chain, in the first instance, to improve the granularity and specific carbon footprint reporting of our transported products.
This will enable more accurate data and a more targeted approach to managing and reducing this subset of scope 3 emissions.
Declaration and Sign Off This Carbon Reduction Plan complies with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard1 and uses the appropriate.
Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting2.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard3.
